Transparency and Trust are the pillars of Academia. Our policy ensures a fair process for both Students and Tutors.
This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs all payments made on the Academia platform. By registering or making any payment, you agree to this policy and the platform Terms of Service.
The one-time Home Tutor Registration Fee is non-refundable once payment is completed and the tutor profile is created or activated.
A Home Tutor may request a FULL refund of the registration fee ONLY IF the tutor receives no valid tuition lead from Academia within 3 continuous months from the profile approval date.
Online tutor onboarding or registration fees are non-refundable once account access is granted.
Academia does not guarantee:
Students may request cancellation before the first scheduled class. Refund may be issued after deducting payment gateway charges, administrative fee, and taxes.
Refund = Total Paid – (Classes Attended × Per-Class Fee) – Charges
No refund if:
Academia may: Reschedule class, Add wallet credit, or issue proportional refund if class cannot happen.
If student misses scheduled class, arrives very late, or fails to confirm timing, the class may be counted as completed. No refund required.
Refund or replacement class allowed ONLY if the failure is proven to be from Academia servers.
No refund for: Poor internet, device problem, power cut, or wrong app setup.
Academia may suspend accounts for fake documents, abusive behaviour, bypassing platform payment, or sharing misleading details. In such cases, NO refund will be issued.

This policy shall be governed by the laws of India. All disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Tezpur, Assam.
